And...? Are they going to pay for the extra work required? How about provide the manpower needed to convert the Guild Wars code?
I'm willing to bet the answer would be no. Might as well make a petition for pink unicorns... no offence Ark.

QFT
While is not a pleasant truth I agree, world wide compatibility would be great, but its not possible from a business point of view.
BTW... which A.R.K.? and do those yellow Unicrons count?
As for the person that asked about Macs, they aren't for playing games, unless you install windows on them(which I heard works better than on a machine actually designed to run windows O.o)

Anet are such slaves to Windoze they said they want to require Vista for GW2. Amazing considering the growing popularity of Apple OSX and the offering of 3D drivers by nVidia and, recently, ATi. Let's not forget the Asus Eee, a linux laptop that has sold out with 350,000 models.
/signed, but with little hope of it ever happening. Anet aren't the greatest of IT's.

/signed,
but this has been discussed before and apparently the reason it'd be hard to port is that it's based on Microsofts DirectX-technology, and Microsoft doesn't support Linux.
Using something like Cedega could be a possibility, but would be likely to open up enormous support problems for Anet/NCsoft, possibly even legal problems.
So, yeah, I'd love to see Guildwars native on Mac and Linux (and PS3), but I don't think it's going to happen.
Edit: Clarissa F: sorry, but if you think ANet are bad programmers, you clearly have no clue what you're talking about.

I just signed it. Although I do play GW on Linux (Ubuntu Gusty 7.10) the only thing I have noticed is my cursor will disappear and I have to restart to get it back. Oh, and my fps is about half what it was on Windows (30 from 60+)
GO PENGUINS!!

The only game that was released only for Vista that I know of was Halo 2 (which makes sense because it was a Microsoft game). And considering that they made a hack-proof, stable, and convenient update system and have never in my 2 years of playing had any problems at all, I would say that Anet has their IT down pat.
Still, /signed. Would allow me to go to Linux full time.
